The Home School Association (HSA) is a critical component to our school community. Every registered family at Trinity Academy, including your family, is a member of the Home School Association (HSA).
The Executive Board of the HSA is comprised of the President, Executive Vice-President, Vice-President of Fundraising, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and Parent Ambassadors. Board members are nominated and elected by school families on a bi-annual rotation. The HSA serves several important functions within our school.
First, the HSA supports the school’s overall mission. The HSA is a community-building organization that strives to promote Christian values and school spirit among our families. Becoming an active HSA member is a valuable way to impact your child’s education and experience within the school. The HSA is a place where one parent can make a huge difference and many parents can make an impact in countless ways.
Second, the HSA strengthens connection. In attending just one HSA meeting or volunteering for a single one task or committee, families can meet their child’s friends, interact with other families, and familiarize yourself with the workings of the school. The HSA provides connection with school educators and administrators, parent to parent support, and offers a forum to discuss meaningful issues. Volunteering one’s time and talent for the benefit of the community is at the very foundation of the HSA.
Third, the HSA helps to raise funds that directly benefit the school and its students. The HSA holds various events throughout the school year in which it meets its fundraising goals. Some fundraisers require mandatory participation by Trinity families and others are optional and involve people throughout our community. All our important in supporting our fundraising goals.
Fourth, the HSA cultivates communication. The HSA provides a vital link from the school to the community through several events during the year, such as the Reindeer Run and Tricky Tray, and through various publications, including email, parish bulletins and newspaper articles. There’s no better way to know what’s going on in the school than to be active thru the HSA. You’ll be among the first to hear about important decisions and changes the school is thinking about making, and you will get to know key community members on a familiar basis. The HSA has created events that welcome the community’s participation so that we can both give back to the community and showcase what our Blue Ribbon Award Winning School, Trinity Academy, is all about.
Lastly, the HSA is for every parent. The variety of opportunities to become involved within the HSA consistently reminds us that each parent matters. The HSA provides volunteers for various school activities and events. Trinity families play a central role in the library, cafeteria, Book Fair, Santa Shoppe, Faculty Breakfast and other programs. Our volunteers assist the faculty and administration through their presence at so many of these “extras”. From volunteering for events, to making photocopies, to offering assistance with technical skills or talents, there is a place for the gifts that each parent offers to share. We are always looking for various ways that a parent can provide meaningful support for our students and community.
The HSA is only made better with parent and guardian involvement. Your opinion, your talents, and your voice are critical components to what we can accomplish this year. As parents and caregivers, being a partner in our child’s overall school experience is essential and we ask for your participation in making the 2018-2019 academic year our strongest year to-date. We look forward to making a difference together.
